Flash Player Security Settings

Developers typically test content using a webserver running on their local machine. If that describes you, you can stop reading this page.

If you're running the examples or your own test code from your local filesystem (that is, not through a local webserver), you will need to tell Flash about the directory from which you want to run the examples.

This is true whenever you run any Flash content locally and is not an issue specific to FluidHtml. Of course, your end-users won't need to worry about any of this since they will see your content served over the web, not locally from their machines. To do this:

  • Edit your Flash Player Security Settings
  • Check off the Always ask button
  • Click the Edit Locations dropdown, then select Add Location.
  • Click browse for folder. Add the folders where you would like to authorize Flash Player to run content locally, for example: c:\
  • There is no "confirm" button. Just navigate away from the page when you're done and you will have changed your security settings.
